I have avidly read many dozens of Berriozabal’s poems over at least two decades in many hard copy magazines and ezines. The LA writer is a diverse and committed poet. Unfortunately, most of his work in book form is out of print, including the 8 chapbooks he has published through the iconic Kendra Steiner Editions.
Berriozabal says in his recent interview with Hosho McCreesh (see link below) that most of the poems in this collection were written between 2018-2020 “and a few older ones from the last decade”. He also attributes the writer Jack Henry as encouraging him “to get the book out”.
Today I was thrilled to receive a signed copy of his collection together with a cut-down Office Depot file to protect the book which includes a sketch by the poet.
